Every person has a story worth telling. Mine is helping others discover theirs through art, creativity, and purpose.

I’m Catherine “Cat” Silvas, a proud Tucson native whose heart has always been rooted in the rich traditions, vibrant colors, and beautiful music of my Hispanic American heritage. Inspired by the culture that shaped me from the sounds of mariachi to the stories woven throughout our community I discovered my passion for painting in 2013, and that passion has grown into a lifelong mission.

Today I create original artwork, murals, workshops, and creative experiences that invite people to discover the beauty of their own stories. As an artist, creative coach, educator, veteran, and founder of Voices on Canvas and the Creative Storyteller Studio, I believe every person carries a masterpiece within them waiting to be revealed.

Whether I’m standing behind a canvas, coaching an entrepreneur, mentoring an emerging artist, or helping someone rediscover their purpose through creativity, my goal remains the same: to inspire hope, awaken purpose, and help others leave a meaningful legacy.

Because I truly believe that when we embrace our story, we discover our voice and when we discover our voice, we can change the world.

Welcome to my educational journey!

Education has always been about more than teaching—it has been about helping students discover their strengths, build confidence, and realize their potential. Since 2014, I have had the privilege of serving students throughout the Tucson Unified School District in a variety of educational roles, working with learners from kindergarten through high school.

I earned my Master of Education in Secondary Education and Arizona Teaching Certification in 2019 and have served as a middle school Structured English Immersion (SEI) teacher, English Language Development (ELD) educator, instructional leader, testing coordinator, and MTSS Coordinator. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about creating equitable learning opportunities, supporting multilingual learners, and building strong partnerships between schools, families, and the community.

Beyond the classroom, I enjoy developing meaningful learning experiences that celebrate students’ cultures, voices, and creativity through multicultural events, community partnerships, and project-based learning. I have also coached volleyball and soccer, believing that athletics, like education, teaches resilience, teamwork, and leadership.

Whether in the classroom, through educational leadership, or by mentoring educators and students, my mission remains the same: to inspire growth, cultivate belonging, and empower every learner to reach their fullest potential.

Awakening Purpose. Inspiring Legacy.
2010 - 2006
Behavioral Health Coordinator
Welcome to Creative Storyteller Studio! My journey in behavioral health began with a passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges and discover their strengths. While earning my Bachelor of Science in Human Services, I worked alongside individuals and families, supporting them through life’s transitions with compassion, respect, and hope.
These experiences deepened my understanding of human behavior, trauma-informed care, resilience, and the importance of meeting people where they are. They also reinforced my belief that lasting change happens when individuals are empowered to recognize their own value, develop healthy perspectives, and build upon their unique strengths.

Today, the lessons I learned in behavioral health continue to influence every aspect of my work—as an educator, creative coach, artist, and community leader. Whether through coaching, storytelling, creative expression, or educational leadership, my goal is to provide a safe, encouraging environment where people can grow, heal, and pursue lives filled with purpose and possibility.
